Session Description: 

The 340B Program remains under increasing levels of scrutiny, with significant compliance and financial considerations. Hospital providers are leveraging more sophisticated evaluative techniques to diagnose potential risks, make strategic decisions, and develop progressive compliance programs related to the 340B Program.   In this session, 340B experts will present leading strategies to help internal audit and compliance professionals diagnose potential risks and develop progressive operating strategies.

Speaker Bio(s):
Anthony Lesser, FHFMA - Deloitte
Tony is a senior manager in Deloitte & Touche’s Risk & Financial Advisory Practice. He has over thirteen years of experience and expertise in the pharmaceutical industry, primarily working with healthcare providers and retail pharmacies.  His national leadership role has allowed him to achieve experience and success across many different sectors and platforms in the industry. At Deloitte, Tony’s practice has focused on compliance program development and risk management for healthcare providers and retail pharmacies.   Additionally, Tony has been recognized for his contributions and expertise in the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program. He has published multiple articles in trade publications covering many topics related to 340B and regularly presents at various national events.

Debi Weatherford, CIA - Piedmont Healthcare
Debi Weatherford leads the Internal Audit function for Piedmont Healthcare, an 11-hospital system in Georgia.   With more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, Debi has served in various management, compliance and audit roles during her career.  She is a native Georgian and a graduate from the Terry College of Business at The University of Georgia.

Debi is a published author, frequent speaker and audit resource.  She is active in professional and philanthropic organizations.  Debi has served on the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors (AHIA) Board, Annual Conference Planning Committee, AHIA White Paper Committee, AHIA Item-Writer Subcommittee, and the Southeast Healthcare Internal Auditors/AHIA Regional Seminar planning group.   Debi has received numerous awards - AHIA Founder’s Award, AHIA Award, AHIA Session Leader of the Year Award, Best Self Magazine’s Over 40 and Fabulous Award.
